Sat with Sister Susie in the corner
Sippin’ straight tequila with a sidecar of regret
Her husband’s got a boyfriend
Susie doesn’t know that yet

Smoked up Uncle Barry and his current ball n’ chain
This chick named Sharon
She’s fuckin’ special
Her first night out of rehab
Tried to cut some girl for asking Barry’s name

Thank God for Cousin Raymond
He’s our trusty captain
Keeps the crew in line

He’s got hands the size of Texas

Then there’s Brother Tom
We don’t get along
There ain’t a real good reason
He just bums me out
His accusatory stare
In a Catholic state of shock

Mother Mary came bouncing though the door
Susie said it’s nice to see her happy for a change
We stumbled ‘round the bar
Dropping dollars in the jukebox

And that’s when Brother Tom
Got up in my face
And spit, “I don’t owe you nothing!”

At that point, Brother Jeffrey left the bathroom
Kind of slithered across the floor
Says I come from Alabama with a banjo on my knee
Them colored boys got nothing on me
Raymond said, “Yo, Jeffery, hit the road”

Backed away from Tom
Said, “I’m gonna let that slide
Gonna turn the other cheek
But you ain’t no friend of mine
You got a lot of problems, Tom
Ain’t nothing to do with me”

Susie came up from behind
Put her arms around my waist
Like sunshine on my shoulder
She whispered in my ear
“Forget about old Tom
Give your love to me”
